The Mixtape is a benefit show:
Proceeds to Stockton's Local Community

In collaboration with Rhythm Inc, Adobo Street Connection is presenting The Mixtape competition. First place of this competition will receive a MINIMUM of $500 and sponsorship to a bigger competition called Breakthrough 2K10. Last years winners of Breakthrough 2K9: Poreotics. The dance crew that wins The Mixtape competition will automatically be entered into Breakthrough 2K10 with all competition expenses paid. ASC is also presenting special guests to be announced, as well as local musicians. Special Guest Judges for the competition will be announced soon as well. With an explosion of a dance competition and a showcase, this is the reason ASC has considered this event The Mixtape.

Registration forms for dance crews will be up Oct 1st, 2009!

The main reason I'm putting this event together is for a fundraiser for a local scholarship fund here in Stockton. A majority of the proceeds will be going straight to the scholarship fund. Also, most of my members in my organization are in high school and are trying to get into the media/performing arts business. Putting this event together is helping them take their first step in filming and stage management. As well as pushing most of them to strive for that scholarship fund in hopes that all their hard earn fund raising goes straight back to them in a form of a scholarship.
