Well, I'm after another car. This will be one of my last purchases for a few years.
Trying to decide if I should import a R34 or an R33. Leaning more towards the R34, I'm in love with those tail lights.
Anyways, post your opinions.

Where are you buying it from? Motorex or RB Motoring?
Since the R34 apparently seems to be every riceboy's wetdream, it'll be a bitch driving around and having every single car rev at you :p

Your car will be tied up quite a while in customs...
And I don't think they've legallized the R34 for US use yet, so..

Nah, they havn't legalized it. I'll be sure to take pictures when I decide. Not hurrying into this, might be a month or so before I finalize everything.

Color wouldn't matter to me, I plan to repaint the whole thing to Gunmetal / Charcoal Grey.

I used to live in japan.. my friends dad a gts, i was... quite...pleased hahaha but r34's are just as amazing in japan as they are here... so yeah. If i were you.... get the r34 and the r33...just save one for your new best friend hahaha ;) g'luck with them dude. either way, with all the cars you have now, you're my hero. Pah.

Yea, the R33 is better. I saw them go heads up in Hawaii, pretty nice. There's 2 R34's where I live.. 1 of them is blue and belongs to a little old asian lady LOL.

A friend told me an R34 GTR sold at an auction in cali for 15k, it was confiscated for street racing. And since people at auctions generally aren't automobile(import) enthusiasts..
Damn, I wish I would've been there. Could've turned it around and sold it to some ricer for 80k+
Oh, and no the R33 isn't the best. Most people (non-ricer variety) would argue that the R32 is the best simply due to its weight. All i have to say is that i think the Skyline is very overrated. So many cars that can kill it like Supra,RX-7,STi,EVOVIII. How come you dont have any of those cars? But hey its your call. The r32 is better cuz of its weight.

you cant legalize a title for a skyline, its VIN is changed and the car is regestred as a 240sx, if you get pulled over, and the cop knows what kind of car you really got, hell impound it, and have it smashed

Of course any other cars can kill it, but what it comes down to is how tuned it is / who the driver is. I can gaurentee that there is no car that will take my friend's R34.. 1078 HP with 500 shots in the trunk. Hit's 80 in 1st and has a 15k Redline.
I actually considered buying a Supra before the G35, but what it came down to was if it was going to be a reliable car and if I could find one for a good price.
I'm pretty much done with JDM cars though. I've stopped modding the G35 and starting on a new project. 2005 E46 BMW M3 :D
Don't get me wrong, JDM is the shit... but there are so many people doing it now that it's getting kind of old and you see the same thing over and over again.
I'm not importing a Skyline btw, it's way too much to go through. Already had a talk with Motorex and they're pretty much shutting down from what I can gather. Skyline's ARE overrated, but they are an amazing car. My friend got payed $90,000 just to put 2 stickers on his car for 9 months. Pretty crazy...
Actually R34's are on the list of eligable cars to import... meaning they have gone through customs, crash test, emissions, and vehicle safety ratings. Your looking at about 85g for a R34 through MotoRex. You cannot import a skyline on your own weather your dads friends owns a dealer or not, it has to be brought through a licensed importer and MotoRex is the only place in the states that I know of that can import Skylines. You could try through Canada and bring it over on a trailer but you have to swap plates and vins and hope you never get pulled over. Or you could license it for race use only, but it wont be legal for the street and you have to provide the races you plan to attend, how long its going to be in the states, ect...
Importing is possible but still a bitch. I was looking into importing a 99 Silvia Spec R, but they are NOT on the list meaning I would have to buy 5 or 6 stock ones from Japan so that customs can rip apart all them, crash them, ect... to make sure they are safe, then buy one to keep for myself.

if you are willing to spend 80g on importing it here then get the r34 or jus get a s15 much nicer. skylines are overrated these days. either that or wait for the 08' skyline thats coming out

Lol where did you see that in hawaii? Well anyways check My Bros team - Mansu =p. We have a r34 black if u ever see it around near kunia side that where the dude lives, and there should be 1 guy at enchanted lakes side with a R33 sitting outside of the house.:p :cool:
